While I adore the city centre, some of my all-time favourite summer moments happen just beyond the tramlines and cafés. Here are five beautiful walks and hikes just outside the city centre that offer fresh air, forest silence, and fjord views — plus one secret bonus trail that’s close to my heart.

Western Norway is a land of cascading waterfalls, dramatic valleys, and pristine natural beauty—a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. A few summers ago, my husband and I embarked on a hiking trip to Husedalen and Vøringsfossen, two of the most spectacular waterfall destinations in the region.
